⛓️ GEOPOLITICS: MAIN IRON PRODUCING COUNTRIES ⛓️
Iron is one of the most important metals in the world. It is used in a wide variety of applications, including construction, transportation, machinery, consumer products, infrastructure, energy and medical devises. According to the BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2023, the top 20 main countries are:
Rank | Country | Production (tonnes) | tonnes | % Accumulated
1 China 1,100,000,000 53% 53%
2 Australia 250,700,000 12% 65%
3 Brazil 143,500,000 7% 72%
4 India 129,900,000 6% 78%
5 Russia 112,900,000 5% 84%
6 Ukraine 65,300,000 3% 87%
7 Iran 30,600,000 1% 88%
8 South Africa 29,400,000 1% 90%

Iron is a strong and durable metal that is also relatively inexpensive.
It is being used to make more efficient batteries and more powerful magnets. As the world population grows and the demand for resources increases, iron is likely to become even more important in the future.
In that sense, an openly pro-USA bloc (Australia, Canada, Sweden and USA) controls ± 15% of production and ± 85% by others. BRICS controls ± 73%, Africa ± 4% and LATAM ± 2% of production. However, there could be a potential bloc with pro-China sentiments controlling ± 75% of the total. On the other hand, there is a latent neutral block that could control ± 7.5% of the total.
Finally, there are only 5 countries (China, Australia, Brazil, India and Russia) control ± 80% of the total. However, China has ± 50%, Australia ± 12% and Brazil ± 7%, the largest producing countries, making up about ± 70% of the total.
