馃ォ FOOD SAFETY: WHO CONTROLS MEAT PRODUCTION? 馃ォ

If there were a war, with whom would one have to negotiate? According to 2021 FAO data, there are 18 countries that belong to the top 6 world producers of the main meats consumed (pork, chicken, beef, sheep and goat). Of these, at least 9 do not have strong reasons to be "friends" with the West.

Meat and proteins have a crucial role in the development of the human brain. Humanity needs it, mainly developed countries. However, in terms relative to the sample, China, Russia, India, Turkey, Algeria, Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh and Ethiopia control 52% of meat production compared to the rest of the countries in the sample.

On the other hand, within the same sample, China controls 42% of production compared to 23% in the United States or 15% in Brazil. In fact, if only pork, chicken and beef are considered (the most consumed in Western world), China controls 40% and the US 24%.
Until 2021, China had the dominance. For the rest of the countries, this means having to negotiate since the supply may not be sufficient for global demand in the face of shortages, protectionism or wars.

Of course, the situation can change. Food policies can change, the production of synthetic meat could be a trend, or perhaps, it would be pragmatic to embrace food dogmas or ideologies to avoid an increase in demand.

The best analysis is yours!
