馃崠 WHY THE ANTI-MEAT CONSUMPTION IDEOLOGY MIGHT BE A GEOPOLITICAL ISSUE, NOT AN ENVIRONMENTAL? 馃崠

In last years, the media have propagated that citizens are the only ones to blame for climate change. Surprisingly, the role of over-pollution in developed countries is never discussed because it is disguised by the purchase of CO2 credits, or other factors such as the CFC, travel in private jets, all the ultra-millionaires and political activities or war effects are never mentioned. Now, the star culprit is cow farts and meat consumption.

In a dystopian world where real causes are not talked about because plutocracy is always protected, animal rights have become relevant. This discourse, however, could reflect some phenomena:
1. The lobbying by companies that produce synthetic meat (Beyond Meat, owned by Bill Gates and others, is an example of one listed in the stock market).
2. Low margins of production companies that discourage activity (their net margins are usually less than ± 7.5%).
3. The most important: there are 18 countries that belong to the top 6 world producers of the main meats consumed (pork, chicken, beef, sheep and goat). Of these, at least 9 do not have strong reasons to be "friends" with the West (see which: https://jjplindex.blogspot.com/2023/02/food-safety-who-controls-meat-production.html ).

If currently context is about geopolitical tensions, any paradigm change is a National Security issue, and it will be easier by appealing to emotions or fear. Of course, we could skip over the above and just hear about cholesterol in meats, but the reasonable question is, how much is the effect of fat in meat and not the effect of added oils and the effect of sugars in the diet?

The map shows, in simplified way, the political affinity of the top 10 main meat producing countries. In blue are the pro-USA, and in red are the pro-China. In some cases, it is difficult to predict what position any country will take, despite claiming to be neutral. In any case, there are many with ample reasons for no longer opting for U.S. hegemony.

Finally, the real problem of the whole ideology against meat consumption could be summarized in: If the West does not have enough productive power, the smart thing to do is to indoctrinate not to consume it because we harm the planet.
