馃К✂️ PORTFOLIO: CORPORATE EUGENICS ✂️馃К

Genetically modified babies are prohibited in the United States. However, Silicon Valley is seeking to create an alternative (in a country with more permissive laws). In a way, they intend to replicate what China achieved in 2018 with the genetic editing of babies. The venture capital firm PREVENTIVE aims to achieve this using CRISPR principles (gene editing) to create a perfect human being (eugenics).

The steps to follow are:
- Select the best embryos
- Use algorithms to predict intelligence, height, sex, physical characteristics, and disease risk
- Optimize genes for future offspring

The main objetives of optimization are:
- Increase intelligence
- Eliminate prevalence of hereditary diseases
- Select preferred phenotype

The investors associated with PREVENTIVE are:
- Sam Altman (OpenAI)
- Brian Armstrong (Coinbase)
- Investors linked to Peter Thiel (Palantir), Reddit, Ethereum, etc.
- Private IVF clinics
- Predictive genetic testing companies

The debate is opened between the idea of corporative eugenics vs freedom of procreation. In any case, it is accelerate the evolution. In addition, the possibles risks in this travessy are:
- Inherited genetic errors (unforeseen consequences for future generations)
- Genetic inequality (wealthy children will be more successful; poor children never)
- Social pressure (comparing the baby's appearance to that of a friend/neighbor)
- Commercialization of babies (babies as a product for sale)

Perhaps, the real debate was if this will be the next big bubble in the future, where the AI was only the trigger [Read: https://jjplindex.blogspot.com/2025/11/ai-new-bubble.html ]. Taking inspiration from the above, the chart shows a portfolio with some biotechnology companies, IVF clinics and genetic testing, optimized by minimizing its Sortino ratio.

The best analysis is yours!
